WBTS Trivia: The Battle of Antietam was part of the 1862 Maryland Campaign. The Army of Northern Virginia commanded by General Robert E. Lee clashed with Union forces of The Army of the Potomac, led by General George B. McClellan, on September 17, 1862, near the small town of Sharpsburg, Maryland. The battle fought on that fateful day was the bloodiest single day in American history!
