I have just returned from a week's absence & find your kind letter.
Alas, I have not a single evening I can give to a new engagement before March. It grieves me that I cannot respond to so flattering a request, but I am already weighed down by the duties I have undertaken & so can only thank you & remain,
[to] F.B. Goss, Esq.
Light age toning and wear. Very fine. Desirable California Civil War related personality.
