Signed by two officers who were wounded during the war

7 3/4 x 11 1/2, imprinted form, filled out in ink.

Voucher No. 13. Statement of the Sale by Council of Administration of the Effects of C.N. Hall, deceased, late a private of Company E, 7th Regiment of Tennessee Cav[alr]y. Volunteers, who died at the U.S. Post Hospital, Cairo, Ill., on the 22nd day of April 1864.

Received of W.S. Edgar, Surgeon U.S.V. in charge of U.S. Post Hospital, at Cairo, Illinois, as per Certified Inventory, marked "A," the following Effects:

Included in the Inventory is a cap, great coat, blouse, pair of trowsers, flannel shirt, pair of shoes, pair of socks, a blanket, canteen, haversack and knapsack. Which were disposed of as follows, to wit: Effects sold at auction to highest bidder for 75 cents. Total proceeds of Effects: 75 cents. 1 knapsack, 1 haversack, 1 canteen, Turned over to Capt. Woolfolk, A.Q.M., at Cairo, Illinois, as per voucher marked "B."

Very fine.

George M. Humphrey, was a resident of Lodi, Wisconsin, when he enlisted as a private, on April 24, 1861. He was wounded on July 21, 1861, at the first battle of Bull Run. Promoted to 2nd lieutenant, June 11, 1862; 1st lieutenant, August 29, 1862; mustered out, on June 29, 1864. He re-enlisted, on September 7, 1864, and was commissioned captain, 42nd Wisconsin Infantry. He was appointed Ordnance Officer, and A.A.I.G., and was mustered out of service on June 20, 1865.

Andrew Jackson, was a resident of Appleton, Wisconsin, when he enlisted as a private, on August 15, 1862, and was mustered into the 21st Wisconsin Infantry. He was wounded on May 14, 1864, in the battle of Resaca, Ga. He was discharged for promotion on July 29, 1864, and was commissioned 2nd lieutenant, of the 42nd Wisconsin Infantry. He was promoted to captain, July 29, 1864, and mustered out of service, on June 20, 1865.

Cassius M. Bush, was a resident of Racine, Wisconsin, when he enlisted as a private on March 31, 1862, and was mustered into the 19th Wisconsin Infantry. He was discharged for promotion on July 29, 1864, and commissioned 2nd lieutenant, of the 42nd Wisconsin Infantry. He was mustered out of service on June 20, 1865.
