James W. Bruce, was born in Albemarle Co., Va., on February 9, 1834, and was a merchant before the war. He was appointed Captain, A.Q.M., May 30, 1862, to report to the Valley Army. Captain, A.Q.M., to General C.S. Winder, July 1, 1862. Major, Q.M., to General J.R. Jones, October 14, 1862. Major Q.M. to General C.A. Evans, September 15, 1864. Richmond merchant until 1880, and then at Danville. Died, April 14, 1907.
Captain Fleming Saunders, was the A.Q.M. of the 42nd Virginia Infantry. |
