(1831-1903) Enlisted on Sept. 2, 1861, as colonel, and was commissioned into the 97th Ohio Infantry. Promoted to brevet brigadier general, March 13, 1865. Mustered out of service, June 10, 1865.

Invoice of Ordnance and Ordnance Stores, turned over by Col. John Q. Lane, 97th Regt. Ohio Vol. Inft., to 1st Lt. J.T. Gorsuch, Co. G, 97th Ohio, at camp in the field on the 31st day of July 1864, in obedience to orders from Department Head Quarters. Itemized invoice for Enfield Rifles, bayonet scabbards, cap pouches, cartridge boxes, cartridge box plates, cartridge box belts, waist belts, waist belt plates and gun slings. Signed, J.Q. Lane, Col.
