Pleasant, 48th Pennsylvania Infantry, supervising the arrival of the powder to be used in the tunnel that resulted in the explosion at Petersburg, Va. and the battle of The Crater. Carrying the powder to the mine at Petersburg. General Hancock crossing the James River from Jones's Neck. Other illustrations: The Christian Commission in the field. General Grant's Campaign; Capture of four 24 pound Parrot guns by Miles's Brigade, Barlow's Division. The explosion of the mine and assault, Petersburg, Va. Three different views of the ruins of Chambersburg, Pa. Fort Morgan, Ala. and the Rebel fleet. Shelling a Confederate blockade runner off Mobile, and more. Light wear and age toning. There are 5 very tiny holes at the left edge where this paper was once bound. One page had a small edge tear that was repaired with archival document tape. Excellent content.
