George Armstrong Custer was one of the most celebrated cavalry commanders of the Civil War. He later met his death at the hands of Indians at the Battle of the Little Big Horn, on June 25, 1876. This display traces his military career from the Civil War to the Indian Wars. The copy photo at the top shows Custer leading his famous 7th Cavalry into the Black Hills. The red and white flag remnants are from an authentic flag used during the Civil War. The brass, crossed sabers cavalry hat insignia is an authentic 1873 vintage relic as would have been worn by Indian War cavalrymen. This handsome display is double matted with cream and red mat boards, descriptive text, and measures 11 x 14.
