Know all men by these presents that I, Robert Hannah for & in conditions of this sum, two hundred & fifty Spanish Milled Dollars, to me in hand paid by Nathaniel Karr, the receipt I hereby acknowledge, have bargained, sold and delivered to the said Nathaniel Karr, one Negro woman named Starlet, the property of the said Negro I warrant & forever defend, the property of this said Nathaniel Karr, his heirs, &c from the lawful claims or demands of any person or persons whatever, as witnessed my hand and seal this 20th day of May 1794.
