1864 PAY & BOUNTY CERTIFICATE, 33RD MISSOURI INFANTRY (Image1)

For deceased soldier

8 x 13, imprinted form, filled out in ink. Treasury Department, Second Auditor's Office, March 10, 1864. I certify, That I have examined and adjusted the claim of Thomas C. Strong, Decd., Private Co. C, 33 Mo. Vols. and find there is due him from the United States the sum of Ninety Seven dollars and Fifty Three cents, being for Pay from May 1 to June 22/63 and $100.00 Bounty Per Act, July 22/61, less $25.00 in advance as appears by the account and vouchers herewith transmitted for the decision of the Second Comptroller of the Treasury thereon. To be paid to Hester R. Strong, widow of deceased or her order, by any Paymaster of the Army, in the district of the claimant's residence. E.B. [?] Second Auditor. Second Comptroller's Office, March 11, 1864. $97.53. The above claim of ninety seven dolars and 53 cents is admitted. Jno. B[?], Second Comptroller. Received, this 18 day of March 1864, from Major Robinson, Paymaster, ninety seven dollars, 53 cents, in full of the above. Hester R. Strong, By W.I. Field, Attorney in fact. Witnessed by R.I. Gibbons. Light wear, fold splits, tape repairs. Documents regarding Missouri Civil War regiments are scarce.
