Also known as the stereograph and stereogram. This is a pair of photographs of the same subject, taken at slightly different angles, and mounted to a card stock. When viewed in a stereoscope, a binocular type device with special lenses, the photographs appear as a three dimensional or solid image. This process was conceived in the early years of photography and perfected between 1850 and 1854.

Stereoscopic, cabinet size photographs of the National President Abraham Lincoln Monument in Springfield, Illinois. Features a full standing statue of President Lincoln on a pedestal flanked by statues of a cavalry group, and a stone obelisk rising up from behind Lincoln. Imprint on the reverse, National Lincoln Monument, Springfield, Illinois with descriptive text. Photographed by J.A.W. Pittman, for J.C. Power.
