Stereo Views

Also known as the stereograph and stereogram. This is a pair of photographs of the same subject, taken at slightly different angles, and mounted to a card stock. When viewed in a stereoscope, a binocular type device with special lenses, the photographs appear as a three dimensional or solid image. This process was conceived in the early years of photography and perfected between 1850 and 1854.
