Tiny piece of the top edge of pages 3/4 has chipped off. Surface lift off to the top of page 4 from an old mounting. These flaws do not affect any of the content.

Both soldiers were corporals who were severely wounded at Petersburg, Va. on the same day, each one having their left arm amputated!

Wet plate, albumen carte de visite photograph, mounted to 2 1/2 x 4 card. Top of the mount is very slightly trimmed. Veteran at left is standing and holding an American flag, his G.A.R. medal pinned to his 4 button coat with brass buttons. The veteran at right is seated and holding a musket at his front, the butt resting on the floor. Backmark: Levi Longcor, Washington, N.J. There is an old period pencil...

7 1/8 x 1 1/2. White silk ribbon with black imprint. No pin. This ribbon came with a group of G.A.R. badges from the 1886 National Encampment held at San Francisco, Ca., and was no doubt from the Fresno contingency. Very nice condition.
