8 1/4 x 11, imprint.

Head Quarters, Reno Post No. 9, G.A.R. Hudson, Mass., Nov. 1st, 1894. To The G.A.R. Posts of Massachusetts: Comrades- During the fire of July 4th, 1894, which laid to ashes the business center of our town, Reno Post Hall, with its furniture, pictures, books, relics, paraphernalia and records were destroyed. The loss of the records, papers on file, and relics, is irreparable, as no restoration of these can be hoped for; but the Post hopes to refit in a becoming manner, a new hall now in process of erection on the site of the old...

1885 MEDALLION, REUNION SOCIETY ARMY OF THE POTOMAC

Platinum medallion, with raised vignette on obverse of two soldiers shaking hands, tents and American flags, and spread winged eagle. Imprint reads, Reunion Society A.[rmy] P.[otomac], Baltimore, May 6,7, 1885. Reverse has raised vignette of the Battle Monument in Baltimore. Light surface wear and some tarnish spots on the reverse. Measures 1 1/8 inches in diameter.

Descriptive text on the reverse: The Grand Army was organized at Springfield, Ill., during the winter of 1865-66, and the first post was formed at Decatur, Ill., on April 6, 1866. 7 1/8 x 1 1/2. White silk ribbon with black imprint. No pin. This ribbon came with a group of G.A.R. badges from the 1886 National Encampment held at San Francisco, Ca., and was no doubt from the Fresno contingency.
