CDV Abraham Lincoln Home, Springfield, Illinois

This was the only house that Abraham Lincoln ever owned. He bought it in 1844 from the Reverend Charles Dresser, who married the Lincoln's in 1842.

Famous for The Emancipation Proclamation, freeing the slaves, and the Gettysburg Address, at the dedication of the Gettysburg National Cemetery. He was shot by the famous actor, John Wilkes Booth, at Ford's Theatre, Washington, D.C., on the evening of April 14, 1865, dying early the next morning.

No actual photographs were ever taken of Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln together. Imprint on front, Entered according to act of Congress in the year 1865 by Frank Noe in the Clerk's office of the district Court of Eastern district of Pennsylvania. With title, Mr. Lincoln and Wife. Card is trimmed. A few scattered stains. Corner and edge wear. Scarce cdv.
