Imprinted bearer check, filled out in ink. New York, Nov. 29, 1851. Leather Manufacturers' Bank check in the amount of $600.00. Signed, Aaron Claflin & Co. Cut cancelled with small paper loss at center. Imprint of J.M. Elliott, N.Y.

The Leather Manufacturers' Bank was established in 1832. During the mid 1800's this bank paid and adjusted claims on slave insurance policies.
